Seminary Hill aims to be one of the northeast's premier orchard-based cideries by crafting superlative apple and pear cider from heirloom fruit grown in our own 12-acre orchard. The green design of our production facility, tasting room, and event space extends our commitment to the sustainability of the land and the local community.
Our orchard uses holistic methods to produce apples and pears without relying on pesticides and herbicides. We have more than 30 apple and pear varietals in our 1200-tree orchard. The Cidery meets PassivHaus standards, a designation that exceeds LEED certification, and is fully accessible to all visitors. We aim to become a model for sustainable development in the region.
The Cidery at Seminary Hill combines a ground-floor production facility with a top-floor tasting room and event space. Visitors can learn about the complete orchard-to-bottle process and taste our distinctive ciders while enjoying stunning views of the orchard and surrounding landscape. Small-plate pairings feature local breads, cheese, sausage, and pickles.
The cathedral ceiling of the tasting room and event space makes it an ideal wedding venue. We also host a range of public events from orchard tours and seminars on cider production to Saturday-night farm dinners and Sunday-afternoon jams for local musicians.
