In partnership with Susan Mendoza from The Chi Hive, we invite you to winter wellness in Callicoon. Treat yourself to morning meditation, gentle yoga, and a relaxing sound bath, perfect for beginners and wellness gurus alike. Seminary Hill’s farm-to-table meals, cozy rooms with comfy beds, and plenty of free time to relax in a serene setting complete the perfect recipe for a winter escape.

Meet the instructor

Susan Mendoza is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation and Somatic Movement Teacher, Ayurvedic Wellness Coach, and Reiki Practitioner with 35 years of experience. She fosters holistic well-being, emphasizing breathwork, mindfulness, and embodiment. She founded The Chi Hive in Narrowsburg, New York, just 15 minutes from Seminary Hill.

Where You’ll Stay

Seminary Hill’s boutique hotel, The Boarding House, received a Michelin Key designation in 2024. Outfitted by local studio Homestedt, it’s a unique setting for a weekend of rest away from the city.

Where You’ll Eat

Seminary Hill’s farm-to-table restaurant, The Tasting Room, is helmed by Executive Chef Jack Tippett (formerly The Banty Rooster and Dante West Village in New York City).

Where You’ll Practice

The Old Ross House, part of the Seminary Hill complex, is across the street from The Boarding House. Enjoy yoga and meditation in a private and convenient setting, so you won't need to leave the area.

FAQs

How experienced do I need to be?

No experience is required! The program is designed for people with no experience with yoga or meditation to enjoy a weekend away from the city without awkwardness.

How much does it cost?

The three-day wellness retreat is $450 per person.

What’s included?

The fee includes all wellness services: morning meditation, yoga, and a sound bath. The fee also includes meals: a grab-and-go dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

How do I book?

When you book your stay at The Boarding House, you’ll see an option to add a Winter Wellness Retreat to your reservation.

Friday

  • Arrive 3-5 pm

  • Grab-and-go dinner (market greens, soup, sourdough, cheese boards, jam)

  • Optional: Live music at The Tasting Room or cozy up in your room

Saturday

  • Morning meditation and gentle yoga with Susan Mendoza, 8 am

  • Breakfast, 8-10 am

  • Free time, 10 am-noon

  • Lunch, noon-2 pm

  • Free time, 2-5 pm

  • Dinner, 5-8 pm

  • Sound bath with Reverb Yogi, 8 pm

Sunday

  • Morning meditation and gentle yoga with Susan Mendoza, 8 am

  • Breakfast, 8-10 am

  • Free time, 10 am-Noon

  • Lunch, noon-2 pm

What else can I do during my stay?

We’ve left plenty of free time in the itinerary so you can chart your course. If you’re here to relax and be cozy, make the most of your time at The Boarding House. If you’re interested in being outdoors, there are plenty of self-guided walks and hikes on the property, in town, and nearby. Callicoon offers plenty of boutique shopping, while North Branch, Narrowsburg, and Livingston Manor are all just a short drive away if you’d like to explore further afield.
